Activities

  1. Cultural Department Provides opportunity to students to showcase their talents and enhance their confidence along with their academies.
  2. Students are given opportunity to participate in District/ Inter University / State /National International level completions. After proper training by the well qualified teachers, they bag many laurels and recognition.

Spic Macay

SPIC MACAY is ‘The Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture amongst Youth. It is a voluntary youth movement which promotes intangible aspects of Indian cultural heritage promoting Indian classical music. Music Club organized a musical concert of Indian Classical Music with astounding guests, Shri. SmitTiwari sir (Santoor) and Shri Bhushan Parchure sir( Tabla). The program was started by the welcome dance by famous Bharatnatyam dancer Shri DhaneshwarSavaria who presented Tillanna dance form.

The melodious musical ambiance took the audience to a new level of serenity. People were overwhelmed to see the perfect musical jugalbandi by the artists.  The most memorable performance was the famous “Bangla Gaan” song “Eklachalo re” performed by the artists on ‘Sarod and Tabla’ which led the audience to rejoice.

Yuvarang

Yuvarang, is an intercollegiate youth festival/competition organized by Rastrasanth Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur where performers/students from different colleges participated. During this festival various competitions like Folk and Classical Dance, Lavani contest. Drama and classical/ folk singing/music were conducted. Students from J D college of Engineering and Management, an Autonomous Institute, also participated in the said competition in different category. The students showcased their skills and talents in different competition. Our students won 1st Prize in drama category. The students from our college also bagged 1st prize in dance category.

Indradhanushya

Indradhanushya is a state level Inter-University youth festival, where the universities from all over Maharashtra participate. It is conducted by the Hon’ Governor. During this festival various competitions in Theatre, Music, Dance, Literature and Fine Arts are conducted. The students of JD College of Engineering and Management proudly represented Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technical University. Total 29 students performed an act play, a mime and a skit. They also performed 1 light music vocal, a classical vocal, a classical instrument and a western vocal. The students also showcased their talents in rangoli art, photography and cartooning and bought laurels to our college.

Cuttack

Global Theatre Festival and Competition, was a National and Inter-National Competition, organized by Theatre Movement, Cuttack, Odisha where performers from different countries and different states of India participated. During this festival various competitions like Dance, Drama and Music were conducted. Students from J D college of Engineering and Management, an Autonomous Institute, also participated in the said competition in dance, drama and music category. Students won 2nd Prize in drama category for group and 1st for solo. The students from our college also bagged 1st prize in dance category for group and 2nd, 3rd and 1st consolation prize for solo.

College Ke Tashsanbaaz

College ke Tashanbaaz, is an intercollegiate competition organized by Red FM, Nagpur where performers/students from different colleges participated. Under this festival various competitions like Dance, Drama and Music were conducted. Students from J D college of Engineering and Management, an Autonomous Institute, also participated in the said competition in different categories. The students showcased their skills and talents in different competitions. 3 Students from college reached the Final round. A student from our college managed to bag 1st prize in Dance competition for solo category.

Students Training

We believe in overall development of our students and help them in enhancing their hobbies and talents. JD College of Engineering and Management provides its students to pursue their hobbies and talents along with their education. We have a team of well- trained, professional, cultural faculty that focuses on the extracurricular syllabus of the students. They train the students in Dance, Drama and Music and provide them with a larger platform like inter-college level, inter-university level, state level and national level competitions. The students are thoroughly trained and make them better performers in their respective domains. We have well equipped rooms for each cultural activity, where students come and practice.
