Event details
Garba or Dandiya, are dance forms which were earlier performed only in Gujarat, but have now become very popular across the country. The lively and colorful dance forms’ popularity is such that Garba festivals are organized in almost every corner of the country today to grace the occasion of Navratri.
With an aim to spread joy and happiness, a grand event of Garba Vibes is organized by the department of Electronics & Telecommunication of J D college of Engineering and Management during the festival of Navratri. Students from different departments participate in this event.
The campus looks like a mini Gujarat, with all the Students and Teachers, all dressed up in traditional Gujarati attire, dances to the rhythmic Dandiya beats. The celebration starts with the beats of a Garbha song dedicated to Goddess Durga. Prizes are given to different categories like the Best dress in students, the Best dancer in students, etc.
The event is organized to provide social, cultural and recreational activities for the Students.
Event Outcome:
Extracurricular activities teach students how to work for a common goal and this ultimately develops a sense of responsibility in them. It increases the level of confidence and also teaches them how to co-operate and work with people in different conditions.
